The Frog Helmet

Standard

Owen loves frogs. He has never seen one in real life (besides the poisonous ones at the aquarium), but he is fascinated with them. Daily, he pretends to be a frog. Great imagination that child has! He will get on the floor, yell out “Bibbet!!” and proceed to hop around our house. (He can’t really say his R’s yet, so bibbet is as close as we’re getting to Ribbet for now.)

When Sean and I stumbled across a frog helmet in Target, I felt the need to get it for him. We actually gave him a choice of two helmets to pick from, and obviously he chose the bibbets. I think it’s good to be safe….probably too safe, but oh well. I’m a mom. It’s my job.

Last night, he felt the need to take extra procaution while riding his tricycle in our dead end parking lot, so he spent a lot of time trying to put on his frog helmet….by himself. No help. And when I would try to help, I would get a “Stop it, Mommy! Owie do it.” Fine, son. As you wish.

Hope everyone has a GREAT, relaxing weekend! I’ll be baking 6 loaves (yep…6) of my Amish Friendship bread, since I kept 3 starters. I really need some more friends to give it to. If I keep all the starters from the 3 I have, it will be 12 starters, which in turn, will be 24 loaves of bread….Wow. I gotta get some friends!! Happy Friday!

About Erin

I'm a mom to the sweetest little boys ever, Owen & Colin. Owen was born in April of 2007 after 22 hours of active labor in a hospital. Love him more than life. Knowing I didn't feel another hospital birth was right for me, Colin was born at home surrounded by our 2 midwives and our little family. I've been married to my hubs for 7 years. We met in 1997 in an AOL Chatroom...the rest is history. I'm crazy. I'm funny. I am socially awkward. This is my life.
